Hershey Park is an amusement park for all ages. Toddlers can ride the carousel and monorail. Big kids can take on thrilling roller coasters and other adrenaline-pumping rides. The Great Bear lets your legs hang free as you whip along a fast track, while the Flying Falcon spins you around as you ascend a mighty tower. Other attractions include concerts with a cappella groups, talented trombonist shows, piano duels, and dance extravaganzas. There’s plenty of dining as well, from classic burgers, to hotdogs, and, of course, delicious chocolates. Visit during Halloween, spring, or Christmas to see the park change themes for the season.
Make sure to visit Hershey’s Chocolate World as well. Follow Hershey’s cocoa beans from the tropical rainforest to Pennsylvania, as they become part of the most famous candy bar in the world. A Hershey Trolley Tour, led by conductors dressed in period costumes, drives you through a historical tour of Chocolate Town, USA. Ever wanted to make your own candy bar? Immerse yourself in an authentic Hershey’s factory experience by choosing your ingredients, designing your own wrapper, and crafting a unique candy bar. Take a tasting tour to savor all the different flavors Hershey has to offer. From milk to dark chocolate, you’ll be drowning in chocolate heaven.
Then, head over to The Hershey Story, the quintessential Hershey’s museum. The museum experience examines the journey of Milton Hershey from failed entrepreneur to chocolate king and philanthropic benefactor. Five different installations tell his life story. Interactive exhibits include The Chocolate Lab, a workshop where you’ll learn about the ingredients used in chocolate making, the refinement process, and some of Hershey’s secret techniques to get its signature flavor. Kids can become Mr. Hershey’s apprentice by going on a scavenger hunt-style exploration of the museum exhibits. And, of course, there’s plenty of chocolate tastings for everyone in the family to enjoy.
Once your day of thrills ends, relax in the natural majesty at Hershey Gardens. The gardens opened in 1937, when Milton Hershey wanted to create rose garden. 75 years later, the 3-acre rose garden has expanded to 23 acres of botanical beauty. Overlooking the town of Hershey, Hershey Gardens has a breathtaking assortment of shrubs, flowers, and rare trees. Themed gardens include the Children’s Garden and the outdoor Butterfly House, which has hundreds of fluttering butterflies. To decorate the gardens, they’ve created ArtCycle, a sculpture exhibit where four local artists have transformed discarded items into wondrous pieces of art.
